ABGHS Certified Instructors

ABGHS offers a series of classes to further the pursuit of ghost hunting in a skillful and competent manner. Starting at the beginning, we cover everything from using your digital recorder to triangulating cameras to infrared video. We wish to present quality information used to create proficient and knowledgeable investigators. These classes and seminars are offered on a rotating basis. In an effort to further establish a standard form of investigating, ABGHS has established a four-step certification course. Students start with the basics and work up to conducting their own professional and thorough investigations. Each student is issued a certificate upon completion and considered an American Battlefield Ghost Hunters Society Certified Paranormal Investigator. A textbook titled Battlefield Guide to Ghost Hunting is required but will carry through all four steps.

Battlefield Guide to Ghost Hunting is a step-by-step book to help students of ghost hunting steer through the confusion about the investigative process. A few of the topics this handbook covers include equipment, research, the psychic aspect, team structure, EVP techniques, and evaluating evidence. This is required for those students proceeding with the ABGHS Certification process and recommended for others.
 

Beginner/Step I
If you are interested in ghost hunting and want to pick up some helpful information about video, still shots, or EVP, this class is for you! This class covers the most basic how-to elements of investigating any haunted location. This step is a prerequisite if you are proceeding with the ABGHS Certification process.

Intermediate/Step 2
Your introduction to the exclusive ABGHS Intuitive Science Method begins here! Intermediate students begin to further explore the procedures, both scientific and psychic, as well as the equipment necessary to have a truly successful investigation. This step is a prerequisite if you are proceeding with the ABGHS Certification process.

Advanced/Step 3
At this level students are encourage to work independently and make their own investigative decisions. Using all of the previous training in research, intuition, science, and equipment, students are taught the unique ABGHS teamwork dynamic. Some evidence evaluation is taught at this point. This step is a prerequisite if you are proceeding with the ABGHS Certification process.

Testing/Step4
Each candidate for ABGHS Certification must complete a field test. Students will be tested at a haunted location. Students are asked to follow all the steps to prepare, research and assemble a qualified team. Students conduct this investigation on their own. The instructor’s only involvement is to evaluate.

Evaluating Evidence
Are those spots on my picture really orbs? Did I capture an apparition? Evaluating evidence is not easy and requires a skillful eye. Learn how “hard” science can help you distinguish between a real anomaly and a false positive.

Equipment
Not sure what an EMF Detector is? Why and when to use a natural Tri-field Meter? This class is all about the equipment you would use on an investigation. Learn what equipment is best suited for outdoor and indoor use and when to use it.


In-Service Seminar
Let Patrick Burke bring history to life in the most unique way. Students sit up in their seats to discover history…through the eyes of the participant!
 

In an effort to pay tribute to our country’s history, Patrick Burke has developed a one-of-a-kind method making it history come alive! His teaching method combines the strongest elements of history, science, and interactive involvement and has proven to be very successful.
 

Students, both young and old, can’t help but get caught up in the moment as he paints the picture of a soldier wearing a wool uniform on a sweltering day in July 1863 in Gettysburg, PA. All of a sudden the smallest details of history might allow you to capture a paranormal image on film! “The Confederate troops advanced from a southwest position” he says,” so setting cameras in this position gives us the opportunity to capture movement and here is what we actually got on film.” He shows them video, still photos and shares audio. This completely unique approach grabs your attention and has you wrapped up in the historical details before you know it!
