ABGHS
honors the life and work
of our friend and colleague
Edward G. Dubil, Jr. Ed passed away on November 23, 2006. You can
see his obituary as published on
www.Timesleader.com.
“Little Ed”, as we called
him, was a great friend and fellow paranormal researcher. Many ABGHS
members spent time with Eddie and his ghost hunting dog, Brutus, at BOOt
Camp, on various investigations and on battlefield excursions. He was most
often accompanied by his ghost hunting father, “Big Ed”. Together, they
founded White Dog Ghost Chasers in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
A close friendship quickly
grew between Little Ed and me. It was not long until Eddie and his father
joined ABGHS, and Little Ed became the Director of the NE area for ABGHS.
Ed’s love of history and his ability to dig deep into the history of a
haunting or a battle was invaluable on numerous occasions. Eddie is the
researcher’s researcher! And I am sure that he is doing his best now to
learn as much as he can about the hereafter, and will be passing it on to
us shortly!
The last investigation that
Eddie, Brutus and Big Ed joined us for was an over-night stay at Fort
Mifflin, PA. Garden State Paranormal Investigations (GSPI), the newest
member of the ABGHS family, graciously invited us to join them at the
fort. Little Ed and I sat in one of the guard houses located at the West
Sally Gate, and quietly chatted. As was usual with us our conversation
covered an array of topics. On this occasion Eddie again told me that it
was not that he did not believe in ghosts, but that he simply had not had
an experience, and would welcome such a moment. Well, “Little Ed” got his
wish that night as he had a paranormal experience.
As Eddie, my brother John,
Terry Tempalski – President of GSPI – and one of the team members from
GSPI sat in Casement #5 a ball of light shot out of the wall to their
right and made a turn towards the door of the casement. Later that night
Big Ed, Little Ed, Brutus, a few members from GSPI, the Wolf Pack and I
were investigating the Elizabeth Pratt room. On Big Ed’s camcorder you see
Eddie move off to the right and then the apparition of a woman’s head,
flowing hair and shoulders cross in front of the camera! I can not relate
to you the excitement Eddie had when he called me after reviewing the
footage for the first time. He was so excited and upbeat all I could do
was put a big grin on and tell him how happy I was for him.
Two days before he passed
away Eddie and I talked. He had some very exciting plans and wanted to get
back to Fort Mifflin. Although his body has moved on Little Ed will always
be hanging out on every investigation, on every battlefield and historic
site I visit.
Vaya con Dios, my friend!
